NDFDP Outreach – Women’s Empowerment Programme 2026

The New Dawn Foundation for Displaced Persons successfully organized the Women’s Empowerment Programme 2026 at New Kuchingoro
IDP Camp, Games Village, Abuja. The programme was designed to empower internally displaced women by equipping them with entrepreneurial
knowledge and providing Business Start-up Cash Grants to support sustainable income-generating activities.

Based on the outcome of a comprehensive assessment process, including site visits, stakeholder interviews, and the evaluation of over 100
entrepreneurs, four (4) women who demonstrated genuine need, commitment, and strong potential to successfully utilize the grant were selected
as beneficiaries and awarded Business Start-up Cash Grants to establish or expand their businesses

NDFDP Outreach – Health Awareness, First Aid Training and Medical

The Health Awareness, First Aid Training, and Medical Outreach was conducted to promote healthier and safer living conditions among internally
displaced persons (IDPs) at Wassa IDP Camp. The outreach focused on empowering women and children with essential health knowledge and
practical first aid skills through shared learning and demonstrations.

Over 100 families were reached during the outreach. Key focus areas included first aid management for common emergencies such as seizures,
snake bites, dog bites, maternal health issues, breastfeeding practices, family planning, and basic nutrition. The activity aimed to improve community
resilience, reduce preventable health risks, and encourage responsible health practices.

NDFDP Oureach – Lighting Hope, Powering Safety

The New Dawn Foundation carried out an outreach activity at the New Kuchingoro Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, aimed at enhancing
safety and mobility within the community. Two solar-powered street lights were installed to address the camp’s lack of electricity and lighting,
which previously hindered night-time movement and increased vulnerability to insecurity. The intervention directly impacted over 900 displaced
individuals, including women and children.
